__wordofmouth__ was born after a weird elevator ride at the beginning of quarantine. as the elevator doors slide open, i saw my neighbors getting out. i tried to greet them as usual with a simile and they were trying to do the same i’m sure, but we were both failing at the simplest human interaction. when i got to my floor, i thought, “fuck this, i need to do something”.

collaborating with artist friends, we created 40 masks in two weeks. the best part is that these mask were not for sale. we asked people to make donations to covid relief organizations or the blm movement to get a mask.

donation receipts were our currency. we generated over $1K.
